Dear Lloyd and Health Club team I wanted to let you know that i am very impressed by the significant thought and consideration that has gone into reopening the health club. Despite the restrictions of Covid 19, the staff are, as always, friendly, courteous and helpful. The changing rooms and swimming area were spotless and clearly a lot of thought has gone into managing the 'flow' of people. It can't be easy to return to work under such circumstances so well done to all concerned.
This was by far my best experience of a Hotel break that I've EVER had, and I've had many. From the minute we stepped in the door on day one to the time we stepped out of it on our last day, it was an excellent experience. The staff were consistently nice, helpful, kind. Covid actually didn't affect my experience at all. Hand sanitiser stations EVERYWHERE but VERY discrete while remaining in obvious positions. Face shields worn by all the staff and the receptionist sanitised after ever transaction with hotel guests. At reception, on check in, in order to sign the check in form, I was given a new pen, removed from a plastic wrapper and then was allowed to keep it to avoid cross infection. The room was very spacious and clean. The bed was massive, very comfortable with plenty of pillows. The food was AMAZING! Now, a word of advice, if you like 3 meals a day, do not, I repeat DO NOT have the full Irish breakfast, it's FANTASTIC and you will not need to eat for a week after it! The view of the river is brilliant and the Lee Fields walk alongside the Hotel is fab, plenty of wildlife and nature. To summarise, I would highly recommend staying in this Hotel. The staff here are unreal. I met nice people working in hotels before and some not so nice, but these people were consistently lovely. The rooms are gorgeous. The bathroom is HUGE, and the hot water is roasting. The big bottle of body lotion in the bathroom is a great idea, instead of those little bottles that are left on the sink. Towels are lovely and fluffy! It's a nice walk into town. So if you're up for a bit of exercise or you just like walking, it's perfect! I didn't like having to leave. It was a great experience, but, after seeing all the wildlife on the river when having breakfast, we'll book a river view room next time!
We continue to choose the Kingsley for our monthly trips to Cork as the staff in the hotel are friendly and courteous and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The front desk staff are always helpful with our requests (accessible bathroom, quiet room etc), the breakfast buffet is extensive and the kitchen staff are always helpful in whipping up tasty vegan options. The hotel is close to CUH and the city centre and offers extensive free parking making it a great option for those making regular trips.
Good quality hotel . Excellent location for CUH & university. Access to the health / spa , which has a decent size swimming pool and also an external warm pool overlooking the river. . Free car parking. Situated next to the majestic river Lee. 40 minute walk into the main hub of Cork town. Fantastic staff.
