The Fota Collection Graduate Programme

The Graduate Programme is designed for Hospitality Graduates. This programme will equip candidates with the knowledge, skills and aptitude to prepare for Leadership and Management roles gaining invaluable experience across the key departments. This programme is 12 months in duration within four disciplines and aims to develop high potential hospitality professionals while attracting and retaining talent.

The Graduate Programme developed and certified in-house gives graduates the opportunity to work in the main Hotel Departments therefore allowing them to experience the full spectrum of Hotel Management. The departments covered include Front Office, Food and Beverage, Accommodation and Event Management as well as a 3 day Management Theory Workshop.

On-boarding of this programme is continuous throughout attracting high calibre external and internal candidates. The Graduate Programme provides a combination of broad on-the-job experience through job rotations across departments and sites, formal classroom training requiring study and research, mentoring and coaching over the course of the programme. This will require personal stamina, hard work, commitment and passion for Hospitality. You will be assigned a course coordinator and mentor/coach. Course Materials will be provided.

The programme runs for 12 months

  • - The first day of the programme will be Induction followed by Management training. This will be 3 days in duration
  • - Candidates ideally should be a L7/8 graduate and will be advertised within applicable third level colleges
  • - Interviews will be carried out for the places and offered with a senior interview panel
  • - Performance Reviews will be carried out every 3 months
  • - Appointments will be pending appropriate vacancy as well as successful completion of the programme. Some Graduates may revert to their original position.
  • - The candidate will be required to work 3 months per department job shadowing the Associate, Supervisor and Manager.
  • The graduate may be required to carry out the role of a Duty Manager at The Christmas Event if the placement falls within the Christmas Period.
  • - We aim to have 3 graduate programmes places per year
  • - A mentor will be assigned to the candidate for support from the qualified assessors in house
  • - There is an appeals procedure if a candidate feels they were unfairly assessed, this will be furnished to the candidate at Induction.
